JOSEPH PHILIPSON

Hello, my name is Joseph Philipson and I am a documentary photographer and activist who travels the country documenting Americans and their diverse lifestyles. 

I strive to capture the moments that reveal our shared humanity and communicate empathy to help build a better future.I have been shooting professionally for over ten years with a diverse body of work from New York City to Hawaii, from small towns in America and abroad.

 My photographs are in private homes, galleries, and museums across the country. Recently, I founded an environmental organization, the Philipson Foundation, which raises money through art sales so that I can sponsor media professionals to create works that raise awareness for environmental conservation.
